“The Bubble” recap

The Wilsons are having trouble selling their house back in Kansas, so Dixon gets worried and goes to the Peach Pit looking for a job. Nat says he’ll try him out. Dixon’s dad is surprised to find out and wished Dixon would have discussed it first, but he can keep the job as long as it doesn’t interfere with school.
Naomi is upset about her dad’s affair, mom insists that Naomi stay out of it but Naomi has other plans. She finds out where dad’s girlfriend (Gail) works and decides to go see her.
Brenda expresses her concern about Kelly dating Ryan, because with Sammy and Sammy’s dad things could get complicated if Kelly & Ryan get serious.
Naomi and Ethan are still broken up but she talks to him about her family trouble.
Dixon hit someone’s car in the school parking lot & needs to come up with cash when he finds out what the repair bill will be; Dixon doesn’t want to use his insurance.
Kelly tells Ryan that Sammy’s dad is a “do gooder” who travels the world doing charity work. Ryan later presses Brenda for info about Sammy’s dad but Brenda says you better ask Kelly & mentions the fact that there’s a lot of history there.

Annie and Ethan are supposed to hang out Thursday night. Ty had also asked her out but she was already busy with Ethan. Ethan ends up busy with Naomi so he flakes on Annie. Ty sees her waiting alone at the Peach Pit and she feels stupid. Dixon is like, go for the guy who treats you good (rather than Ethan).
Annie’s grandmother (Tabitha) has been directing the school musical but Annie begs Harry to replace her because she’s embarrassing and hard to deal with. Harry talks to Kelly who thinks Brenda would be a good fit, so Brenda comes in to help Tabitha. After reviewing some video, Tabitha realizes she’s been focusing only on Annie, very critically, while paying no attention to the rest of the cast. She decides that Brenda should take over completely.
Silver and Annie talk about how Ethan and Naomi are in this “impenetrable bubble” and that they never really break up.
Naomi is over at Ethan’s later. Ethan has a brother who is possibly autistic and seems to have OCD. Naomi is great with him and Ethan just watches her, lovingly.
Ethan and Naomi talk about Naomi’s plan to confront her dad’s girlfriend; she asks him to go with her and he agrees. She goes to Gail’s work and they have a conversation - Naomi says get out of our life, Gail is like, I can’t, I love him. Naomi sees some packages addresses to her family’s beach house and realizes that Gail is moving in there.
Silver and Dixon talk about how they’re both “different” and Silver asks him when he’s going to ask her out.
Naomi’s mom is devastated when Naomi tells her that Gail is no longer some out of town fling that dad has; she’s moving into the beach house! Mom thought it was acceptable when Gail lived somewhere else, for some reason.
Annie wants Ty to go out with her but he’s already going out with someone else. The next day she brings him some cookies she made (he’s not interested) and tries to apologize; he pretty much blows her off until she starts kissing him. He gives her another chance.
Brenda and Kelly argue about why Brenda said anything about Sammy’s dad to Ryan - Kelly’s like, you shouldn’t have said anything at all and Brenda’s like, I’m just concerned because face it, you’re still in love with Dylan! That shuts Kelly up.
Naomi watches a video of her & Ethan at the zoo having fun together. She talks to him the next day and wants to get back together; he agrees to take it on a “day by day” basis.
