Actually, I'm starting to digg it. It will never be the same as the original, but why would we want it to be. I think the key is to make the characters likeable and somewhat believable. I watched the 2 hour premiere and was not sure I was going to like the new format. All of the characters seemed to over the top (especially Naomi). This weeks 90210 made Naomi appear a bit more vulnerable and almost likeable while dealing with her dad's infidelity. I especially like how they have incorporated some of the old cast. I think the show will gain momentum as it goes along. I say, make the characters seem genuine and not to "rich bitchy". I just hope it does not become another "Gossip Girl".

I was a DEVOTED 90210 watcher. I watched for 10 years and never missed an episode. I must say this "spin off" is ridiculous. In the first scene there is a girl and a guy in the parking lot of the school and she is doing what can only appear to be, oral sex, I mean come on. 90210 was a sacred show. Leave it as it is or if you are going to try to truly recreate it.. Then do it right. None of this OC or Hills crap. The kids today are so damn desensitized to what is real and I believe if you want this show to take off you should appeal to the 10 plus million watchers that are still and were back in the 90's devoted to the real 90210. Bring back more of the original cast and spin it off about THEIR lives, what they are doing.. tie in the school, some new age stuff, the peach pit etc.. but focus more on the old 90210 characters.. I believe you will get a broader audience and bigger following. Why not bring back the old characters? Bring back all of the originals.. David, Donna, Brandon, Dylan. Bring back David and Donna ( I know there is drama with Tori Spelling, get over it) and have THEIR daughter attend the school and be counseled by Kelly Taylor. I mean if you are gonna do this, then do it right!

I watched the 2 hour premiere, or the first 2 episodes, however you want to look at it. I am not sure how many people caught the line about Andrea's daughter, and what are you 30? (gabrielle was 30 when she played andrea). Anyways, I see too many similarities to the former CW show, south of nowhere, with some OC thrown in. I think if the producers are tieing in characters from the original show, they should appear on the show (ie andrea's daughter, silver (kelly and david's sister). So far the only returnees are kelly, nat and brenda and maybe silver in a way. I would like to see how the show progress' as the original did take sometime to really take flight and become such a huge hit. I must say that I am disappointed that they changed the look of the peach pit. That was classic and what happened to the peach pit afterdark?
